Nadarajah Manivannan is a Senior Lecturer at Brunel Design School, College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford (1997) in Optical Pattern Recognition and a First-Class BEng Hons in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from City University London (1994).

His research spans electronics with expertise in Non-thermal plasma applications for emission control, Sensors for wearable applications, and Electronic System Engineering for tasks like Blind Reading and Biometrics. Recent projects include EU-funded DEECON and InnovateUK-funded MAGS, focusing on marine diesel engine emission control using microwave irradiation and electron beam technologies. He collaborates with Imperial College London on optical pattern recognition and explores Smart Cities and Social Media/AI applications.
He has secured substantial grants, including a £1.2 million InnovateUK R&D project (MAGS) and smaller grants for biometric research and educational initiatives. He chairs sessions at international conferences, organized Electrostatics 2019 and 2023 conferences, and serves on IEEE committees.
