Dr. Nabeela Ahmed is a Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Sheffield, School of Geography and Planning. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Sussex, an MA in International Relations from Boston University, and a BA in English from the University of Cambridge. Prior to her academic career, she worked with NGOs such as BRAC in Bangladesh and I-Partner India.

Research Interests: Nabeela’s work as a feminist critical geographer in postcolonial contexts centers on three domains: mobilities, borders, and citizenship; urban inequalities (class, gender, race); and digitization and governance. Her methodologies are ethnographic and collaborative, focusing on social justice in South Asia.
Teaching: Her teaching aligns with her research, covering urban geographies, geographies of the Global South, development studies, feminist geographies, and postcolonial geographies, with a focus on addressing systemic inequalities.
