Nabeel Gillani serves as an Assistant Professor of Design and Data Analysis at Northeastern University with a joint appointment spanning the College of Arts, Media and Design (Art + Design) and D'Amore-McKim School of Business (Marketing). He directs the Plural Connections Group, an interdisciplinary research initiative focused on leveraging computational and design methodologies to advance pluralism—an inclusive response to societal diversity—while promoting educational, economic, and social well-being.
His research synthesizes design principles, data analytics, and social computing to address systemic challenges in pluralistic societies. Key investigations explore how computational tools can foster inclusive environments through human-computer interaction frameworks, with emphasis on diversity integration and measurable social impact. This work bridges artistic design sensibilities with business-oriented data analysis to create tangible societal improvements.
Professor Gillani actively mentors doctoral candidates and invites PhD inquiries through direct email contact, demonstrating commitment to developing next-generation scholars in interdisciplinary design and data science. His advising approach emphasizes real-world application of research to drive social change.
The Plural Connections Group operates as his primary research laboratory, uniting design innovation with data-driven social science to tackle complex societal pluralism challenges through collaborative, solution-oriented projects.
