N. Asger Jakobsen is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the MRC Molecular Haematology Unit within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford. He holds an MBChB from the University of Cambridge and an MRCP, followed by a DPhil from Oxford Medical School. His research focuses on clonal haematopoiesis (CH) and its progression to leukaemia, utilizing single-cell methods to study blood stem cells and inflammatory mechanisms. Jakobsen leads the MARCH Study, collaborating with surgical teams to analyze bone marrow samples from healthy older individuals. He also investigates DNA damage in haematopoietic stem cells under Prof Ross Chapman’s group.
Key affiliations include the Chapman Group and prior work in Prof Paresh Vyas’s laboratory. He is a recipient of the MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship. His research integrates genomics, epigenetics, and translational medicine to understand clonal dynamics and therapeutic outcomes.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Chapman Group at MRC WIMM and previously in the Vyas Lab. His work bridges clinical medicine and experimental haematology, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration.
