Māra Gaile is an Acting Researcher and Doctoral Student in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at Rīga Stradiņš University. Her research focuses on clinical medicine and dental materials, particularly resin cement residue removal techniques, cementation quality, and material science applications in prosthetic dentistry. She leads the PhD project Evaluation of the use of direct and indirect aesthetic restorations in terms of complication risk reduction and patient satisfaction (2024–2028), supervised by Professors Soboļeva and Larsson.
Her work integrates advanced imaging techniques like micro-CT and stereomicroscopy to analyze dental restoration outcomes. Research areas include excess cement management, polymerization effects, and thermal cycling impacts. Gaile has presented findings at international conferences, including a poster on the Orofacial Esthetic Scale validation (2025) and an oral presentation on cement residue removal (2021).
