Prof. Mónica López López is a Professor at the University of Groningen’s Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, specializing in child welfare systems. She holds a Rosalind Franklin Fellowship and coordinates internationalization for the Department of Pedagogical and Educational Sciences. Her research focuses on improving child protection systems through decision-making studies, particularly regarding foster care, LGBTQIA+ youth, and participatory approaches. Key roles include chairing the University of Groningen’s Winter/Summer Schools Advisory Board and advising EUSARF Academy. She leads projects like AUDRE (LGBTQIA+ youth experiences) and HESTIA (EU child protection comparisons).
