Myrna Wooders is a Professor of Economics at Vanderbilt University and the University of Warwick. Currently on leave for Academic Year 2025–2026, she has made groundbreaking contributions to public economic theory, network theory, and game theory, with a focus on coalition theory, public good theory, and club theory. Her work spans cooperative and non-cooperative game theory, genetic privacy, and experimental economics. She is an editor of the Journal of Public Economic Theory, Fellow of the Econometric Society, and President of the Association for Public Economic Theory.
- Education: Ph.D. in Economics, University of Minnesota (1976)
Research Interests center on game theory and its applications to public economics, information economics, and the cooperative foundations of price-taking equilibrium. Recent projects include team/coalition formation simulations, genetic privacy studies with the NIH-funded GetPreCiSe center, and experimental economics research on prejudice and discrimination.
