معرفی
Myles McLaughlin is a Professor at the Department of Neuroscience, Faculty of Medicine, KU Leuven. His research focuses on neuromodulation techniques, including deep brain stimulation (DBS) and transcranial focused ultrasound, with applications in neurology, psychiatry, and auditory research.
His work investigates neural pathways in trigeminal nerve stimulation, post-stroke motor recovery, and biomarker development for DBS programming in Parkinson’s disease and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Recent projects include Realtime in vivo monitoring of neurotransmitters (2025-2029) and Understanding neural mechanisms of low-intensity transcranial ultrasound (2024-2028). He has contributed to over 15 publications in 2024-2025 on topics like tDCS, DBS, and neural oscillations.
His research integrates
- Biomedical sensor development
- Electrophysiological mapping of stimulation effects
- Computational modeling of neuromodulation
- Translational studies from rodent models to clinical applications
