Nicole McLaughlin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and holds clinical roles at Butler Hospital as Director of Psychiatric Neurosurgery (2016-Present) and Clinical Neuropsychology Director (2022-Present). Her research focuses on neurocircuitry-based interventions for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), examining clinical, cognitive, and neuroimaging outcomes post-treatment.

Research Interests: McLaughlin investigates neuropsychological changes following gamma ventral capsulotomy and deep brain stimulation (DBS) in treatment-refractory OCD. She explores neuroimaging biomarkers, cognitive control mechanisms, and the role of physical activity in OCD symptom management. Her work addresses accessibility challenges in DBS and integrates connectomic models for outcome prediction.
