Mustafa ÇINAR serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Kafkas University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. With continuous academic service since 1993, he holds significant administrative responsibilities including department chairmanship (2010-2021) and membership in multiple university councils.
His educational background includes a PhD (2002) and MA (1997) in Arabic Language and Literature from Atatürk University's Institute of Social Sciences, and a BA (1981) from Al-Azhar University in Egypt. His research spans classical Arabic poetry, Andalusian literature, Abbasid period studies, and Ottoman Turkish language.
ÇINAR's scholarly output demonstrates deep engagement with Arabic literary traditions, particularly focusing on poetic forms, historical periods, and linguistic analysis. His work examines cloud/rain imagery in Abbasid poetry, ascetic literature during the Ta'ifa kingdoms period, and erotic poetry in Arabic literary history. He has also contributed significantly to language pedagogy through modern teaching methodology publications for Arabic learners.
His administrative roles include serving on the Board of Directors for Kafkas University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences (2010-2021), Ebu'l-Hasan Harakan Applied Research Center (2012-2015), and Foreign Languages School (2015-2020). He has taught numerous courses including Classical Arabic Poetry Translations, Ottoman Turkish, and Arabic Reading Comprehension at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
ÇINAR has established research centers and contributed to editorial work including 'Arapça Konuşuyorum' (2022) and 'Anadili Arapça Olmayanlar İçin Arapça Hikâyeler' (2019), demonstrating his commitment to Arabic language education and scholarly dissemination.
