His career integrates clinical expertise in child neurology with translational research focused on neurogenetic disorders.
- MD, PhD - Yale Medical School (1995)
- Internship & Residency - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (1996-2000)
Dr. Sahin's research investigates the molecular mechanisms of neurological disorders including Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), autism, and hereditary spastic paraplegias. His work examines how genetic mutations affect neuronal development and connectivity.
Recent publications (2025-2023) demonstrate expertise in gene therapy for neurogenetic conditions, CRISPR-based functional assays, iPSC modeling of developmental disorders, and neuroimaging biomarkers for autism and epilepsy.
Scientific honors:
- National Academy of Medicine (2023)
As director of Boston Children's TSC clinic, he bridges clinical practice with laboratory discoveries to develop targeted therapies for neurogenetic conditions through precision medicine approaches.
