Prof. Dr. Musa W. Dube of the University of Botswana was honored with the 2017 Gutenberg Teaching Award for her pioneering work in integrating HIV/AIDS sensitivity into theological curricula, advancing African Biblical studies, and advocating for young African women theologians. She is recognized as a leading New Testament scholar in Africa and a prominent figure in the 'Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians.'
Her research emphasizes contextualizing theological education within African socio-cultural frameworks, fostering self-confidence among African academics and students. In October 2017, she delivered a guest lecture at Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) during the DIES LEGENDI event, where she received the award.
