Dr. Murhaf Korani serves as Assistant Professor and Vice Dean for Hospital Affairs within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia. Previously, he completed his PhD in Public Health at Swansea University under Professor Amy Brown in the College of Human and Health Sciences, where he investigated ethnic disparities in childhood obesity through social, economic, cultural, genetic, and lifestyle lenses.
His research spans Public Health and Epidemiology with concentrated expertise in Childhood Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension, and Social Behaviour. He extends his doctoral work on obesity variations across ethnic groups into related chronic conditions and behavioral health determinants, maintaining strong ties with Swansea University for potential future collaboration.
As Vice Dean for Hospital Affairs, Dr. Korhaf oversees academic-hospital integration while championing postgraduate researcher development. He emphasizes networking and presentation skills gained through Swansea's Postgraduate Research Conferences, advising students to "strive for knowledge, read as much as you can and don’t be shy!" His leadership bridges clinical practice with public health research in Saudi Arabia's healthcare landscape.
