Mumtaz Hussain is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Postgraduate and Professional Law at the University of Wolverhampton Law School. With over 10 years of professional legal experience prior to joining the University in 1996, she specializes in family law, alternative dispute resolution (particularly mediation), negligence, and personal injury litigation. She founded the University Legal Advice Centre (awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award in 2012) and co-established the Law Student Representation Project and Wolverhampton Legal Champions, both recognized for community impact.

Her research focuses on conflict resolution and mediation as alternatives to traditional legal processes. She has extensive experience in postgraduate legal education, including external examining roles at Liverpool John Moores University and involvement in international teaching assignments in Hong Kong and Mauritius.
