Muhammad Zaheer serves as a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Chemistry within the School of Science & Technology at Nottingham Trent University. His academic role integrates chemistry, environmental science, and energy innovation to address global sustainability challenges.
His research spans five critical domains:
- Discovery Science: Molecular-level structural modulation for catalytic materials development
- Circular Economy Solutions: Catalytic upcycling of industrial waste (plastics, biomass, CO2) into valuable products
- Hydrogen Economy: Next-generation catalysts for green hydrogen production (electrolysers) and storage (liquid organic carriers)
- Advanced Environmental Technologies: MOF-based membranes for industrial air/water purification
- Environmental Monitoring: Particulate matter analysis and sensor development for ambient air quality
