Michael X Jie

Dr. Michael X Jie is a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the School of Physical and Chemical Sciences. He holds a DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oxford, followed by postdoctoral research in Prof. Peter Edwards' group and a Junior Research Fellowship at Merton College. His research focuses on microwave-initiated heterogeneous catalysis, targeting sustainable processes for hydrogen production, plastic waste upcycling, and CO₂ utilization. Dr. Jie leads a dynamic research group exploring advanced catalytic materials and circular economy strategies, supported by grants from the Royal Society and industry partners like HUNT Energy Enterprises.
