Muhammad S. Khan

Muhammad S. Khan is a Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah Health and Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine. His work bridges cardiovascular biology, cardiac electrophysiology, and biomedical engineering.

• Education: PhD in Engineering Sciences from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, MS/BS in Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology

His research focuses on cardiac electrophysiology, gene therapy for heart failure, and biomedical device development, with publications on His bundle pacing, ischemic cardiomyopathy, and biosensor design. Recent work includes AAV9-cBIN1 gene therapy in canine models and electrophysiological studies of postoperative complications.

Collaborative publications span biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, and clinical cardiology, including reviews on biomarkers predicting atrial fibrillation. He has contributed to biosensor development for cortisol and PSA detection, and lipid bilayer studies with nanopores.
