معرفی
Ravi Ranjan, MD, PhD, is a tenured Professor of Medicine and Chief of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School, followed by residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and cardiology/EP fellowships at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
- Harvard Medical School – MD
- Johns Hopkins University – PhD in Biomedical Engineering
His clinical and research focus includes ablation of complex cardiac arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia) and cardiac device-based therapy (ICDs, pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization). He has pioneered patient-specific computational modeling for ablation planning and scar prediction using MRI. His work bridges machine learning with clinical electrophysiology to improve arrhythmia detection and treatment.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to atrial fibrillation management, including novel ablation technologies, fibrosis-arrhythmia relationships, and preclinical models for heart failure and arrhythmia. His research spans gene therapy, MRI-guided interventions, and device optimization in translational animal models.
Clinically, he leads one of the largest cardiac electrophysiology practices in Utah, combining patient-reported outcomes with advanced imaging to refine treatment strategies. His team emphasizes personalized ablation approaches and His bundle pacing safety protocols.
