Dr. Mihail G. Chelu is a Professor of Medicine - Cardiology and holds multiple leadership roles at Baylor College of Medicine including Director of Electrophysiology, Director of Clinical Electrophysiology Research, and Medical Director of the Inherited Arrhythmia and Cardiomyopathy Clinic. He is also Associate Program Director of the Electrophysiology Fellowship program.
Education: MD from Iuliu Hatieganu University (Romania), PhD from Baylor College of Medicine (USA), and postdoctoral training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Texas Heart Institute. Completed clinical fellowships in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Disease at Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas Health Science Center.
Research focuses on:
1. Molecular mechanisms of arrhythmias/cardiomyopathies
2. Clinical trials for arrhythmia devices/medications
3. Outcomes of cardiovascular interventions
