Dr. Muhammad M. Sherif is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), part of the School of Engineering. He joined UAB in Fall 2019 after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Virginia and M.S. at Carnegie Mellon University, both in structural engineering. His research focuses on smart materials, structural systems, and machine learning applications in civil infrastructure. He is particularly interested in additive manufacturing for construction and the development of innovative materials like engineered cementitious composites.
