Dr. Yang Lu (P.E.) is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Boise State University, College of Engineering. He obtained his M.S. from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
His research focuses on Computational Multiscale/Multiphysics Modeling and Nanotechnology Application in Sustainable Construction, with applications in asphalt concrete, cementitious materials, and energy-harvesting infrastructure. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers.
Key research areas include microstructural crack modeling, chemo-mechanical degradation, thermography for defect inspection, and machine learning in resilient infrastructure design. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals for sustainable cities and climate action.
