Motty Perry is Professor of Economics and MRes Admissions/Recruitment lead at the University of Warwick. A leading game theorist and Economic Theory Fellow, he holds a PhD from Princeton University and has held positions at University of Chicago, Harvard, Hebrew University, and Penn State. His research spans game theory, mechanism design, and contract theory with applications to auctions, bargaining, and evolutionary biology.
Research explores foundational game theory concepts including bargaining procedures, coalition formation, auction efficiency, and evolutionary explanations for social behaviors like monogamy. Recent work examines information manipulation in online reviews and collective decision-making under costly information acquisition.
Honors include Fellowships of the Econometric Society and Game Theory Society, and Economic Theory Fellowship. Graduate supervision includes 9 PhD students.
Publications develop novel mechanisms and concepts in game theory, including efficient auctions, dynamic contracts, and evolutionary explanations for social behaviors.
