Morten Knudsen

Morten Knudsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Organization, Copenhagen Business School (CBS), specializing in organizational theory, public sector management, and the sociology of ignorance. His research examines how knowledge and non-knowledge shape decision-making in Scandinavian public organizations, particularly healthcare and agricultural sectors.

Research Focus: Public sector management, zoonotic disease governance (e.g., LA-MRSA), strategic ignorance, reflexive leadership practices, and communicative constitution of organizations. He employs Niklas Luhmann's systems theory and agnotology to analyze organizational dynamics.

Publications: Recent work includes studies on multiplying ignorance in public health responses, reflexive practices in leadership education, and zoonosis management in agro-industry. His 2024 articles explore regulatory opacity in the Danske Bank scandal and organizational change in agriculture.

Teaching: He supervises 5-7 master's theses annually in the Master of Public Governance (MPG) and Political Communication and Management (PKL) programs. PhD supervision includes Thorben Simonsen, Roderick Walker, and Marie Henriette Madsen.
