Morta Grigaliunaite

Morta Grigaliunaite serves as Lecturer in Pianoforte at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and teaches at The Purcell School of Music, Britain's oldest specialist music school. A Lithuanian pianist of international acclaim, she has established herself as both a soloist and chamber musician with performances broadcast in 40 countries through Mezzo classical music channel.

Her research and performance interests focus on Piano Performance, Chamber Music, and Classical Music Interpretation, with particular expertise in contemporary repertoire including works by Rautavaara, Saariaho, and Bacewicz. Critics have described her interpretations as 'powerful and dramatic' with 'impeccable technique and stylistic awareness.'

Grigaliunaite has received exceptional critical reception for her recordings, including five-star reviews from Diapason and Fanfare magazines, with BBC Radio 3 featuring her work. Her debut album (2019) specializing in Grażyna Bacewicz's piano works received outstanding reviews internationally.

Her educational journey includes training at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, Purcell School of Music (on the UK Government's Music and Dance Scheme scholarship), Royal Academy of Music in London (with First Class honors), Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, and Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. Throughout her studies, she received support from the Mstislav Rostropovich Help and Support Foundation, Michel Sogny Foundation SOS Talents, and Fundacion Albeniz.

As an active performer, she has upcoming engagements through 2025 including solo recitals at venues such as the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Nida Lutheran Church (Thomas Mann Festival), and private recitals in London. She frequently collaborates with distinguished musicians including violin pedagogue Zakhar Bron, former Berlin Philharmonic oboist Hansjörg Schellenberger, and Valentin Erben of the Alban Berg Quartet.
