Mort Marshall is a Lecturer in the Department of Finance at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. He concurrently serves as a corporate partner at Fenwick & West LLP, specializing in executive compensation law. Marshall holds a B.S. in Accounting from the Leavey School of Business, B.A. degrees in English and French from Santa Clara’s College of Arts and Sciences, and a law degree from U.C. Berkeley School of Law (top 10%, Order of the Coif).
His research focuses on equity compensation strategies, SEC regulations, and innovative incentive structures, including cryptocurrency-based rewards. He advises Silicon Valley and New York firms on executive employment agreements and mergers & acquisitions involving compensation treatments. Marshall teaches BUSN 85 and emphasizes practical legal solutions informed by business needs.
