Josef Hellebrandt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Santa Clara University’s College of Arts and Sciences. He previously served as department chair and associate dean. Hellebrandt teaches German and Spanish languages/cultures, with a focus on environmental issues and service-learning pedagogy. He holds a M.A. in Political Science (Germany), an M.A. in Latin American Literature from UNC Chapel Hill, and a Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education from Purdue University.
