Moritz Schwemmer

Moritz Schwemmer is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg's Law school, working under Prof. Dr. Florian Bien at the Chair of Global Business Law, Arbitration and Civil Law since February 2025. He completed his law studies with the first state examination in January 2025.

His research focuses on Competition Law and Regulation, having completed a specialization course in this field in August 2023. Schwemmer's academic interests extend to International Arbitration and Civil Law, reflecting the focus of his supervising chair.

He has served as a coach for the Willem C. Vis Moot Team at the University of Würzburg since July 2022, having previously been a team member from October 2021 to April 2022. His practical experience includes an internship at Milbank LLP in Munich focusing on M&A and Antitrust Law in September 2021.

From April 2020 to January 2025, Schwemmer worked as a student assistant at the same chair where he is now pursuing his doctorate, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to the institution and its research focus.
