Morgan May is an Adjunct Professor of Physics at Columbia University’s Department of Physics. He holds an A.B. from Columbia College and a Ph.D. in particle physics from Columbia University, advised by Leon Lederman. His research focuses on astrophysics, gravitational waves, cosmology, and neutron star/black hole mergers. He has led programs at Brookhaven National Laboratory, including the cosmology/astrophysics initiative and the Nuclear Physics Group (Medium Energy). As Director of the Wu-Yuan Natural Science Foundation, he supports Columbia’s Chien-Shiung Wu Scholarship and Colloquium.
May’s career highlights include his APS Fellowship (cited in astrophysics) and leadership roles in both academia and national labs. His work bridges theoretical and observational astrophysics, emphasizing gravitational wave phenomena and cosmological dynamics.
He has directed interdisciplinary initiatives, fostering collaborations between experimental and computational physics teams. Current efforts likely extend his focus on high-energy astrophysical events and their implications for cosmological models.
