Moom Roosan

Dr. Moom Roosan serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Chapman University School of Pharmacy, a position she has held since June 4, 2018. Her academic appointments place her at the intersection of pharmacy practice, biomedical informatics, and translational research.

Dr. Roosan received her Associate of Science in Computer Science from Indiana University and Purdue University at Fort Wayne in 2006, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Purdue University in 2010. She furthered her education with a PhD from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Biomedical Informatics with a focus on genomics and clinical informatics.

Her research expertise spans pharmacogenomics, genomics, bioinformatics, oncology, biomedical informatics, and medication safety. Dr. Roosan's work focuses on pharmacogenomics, RNA expression effects, pathway deregulation in personalized drug response, implementation of complex genomics data into electronic health records, and consumer and clinical informatics. Her research program bridges computational biology, translational bioinformatics, and clinical pharmacy practice.

Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals a consistent focus on pharmacogenomics implementation, cancer genomics, and biomedical informatics applications. Her professional experience includes work as a clinical pharmacist in acute care settings, clinical informatics director at a startup company, and implementation pharmacist with Cardinal Health Pharmacy Services serving 17 hospitals nationwide. Her research has resulted in publications in high-impact journals including Genome Medicine and Bioinformatics.
