Shannon Manzi

Shannon Manzi is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Director of Safety & Quality in the Department of Pharmacy at Boston Children's Hospital. She also serves as Applied Informatics Faculty in the Computational Health Informatics Program (CHIP). Her professional history spans over 20 years in pediatric pharmacy, focusing on clinical pharmacogenomics and emergency department pharmacy services. Dr. Manzi leads the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Service and manages ED/ICU pharmacy operations, emphasizing medication safety and personalized therapy. She holds a PharmD and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Rhode Island (1996).

Research interests include pharmacogenomics implementation, adverse drug event surveillance, precision medicine, and optimizing pediatric drug therapies. Her work integrates clinical informatics to enhance medication safety and efficacy, particularly in high-risk patient populations. Dr. Manzi has contributed to developing scalable pharmacogenomic decision support systems and improving post-discharge medication dispensing processes in emergency settings.
