Monty Krieger is the Whitehead Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Department of Biology and a Senior Associate Member of the Broad Institute. He has held visiting professorships at the University of Crete and the Weizmann Institute, and has been a member of Tulane University’s School of Science and Engineering Board of Advisors since 2009.
- Education: B.S. in Chemistry (summa cum laude with distinction, 1971) from Tulane University, Ph.D. in Chemistry (1976) from Caltech.

- Cellular mechanisms of cholesterol metabolism
- Role of LDL and HDL receptors in atherosclerosis
- Scavenger receptors in immune defense
- Pharmacological targeting of cardiovascular diseases
- Gastrointestinal and reproductive physiology
