Montserrat Lopez Diaz

Montserrat Lopez Diaz is a Professor at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Philology and the Department of Classical, French and Italian Philology. She leads research in the French FraDiS group focusing on Discourse and Semiotics.

Education: She earned her Doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1992 with the thesis La construction du sens dans la parole publicitaire, supervised by Dr. Jesús Lago Garabatos.

Research Interests: Her work explores advertising discourse structures, semiotic frameworks, and textual analysis within French philology. She investigates how meaning is constructed in public communication through discourse rules and semiotic systems.

Labs/Teams: Active member of the French FraDiS research group, analyzing discourse dynamics and semiotic applications in modern textual analysis.
