Monique Pagé is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Music, University of Montreal, and serves as the Secretary of the Faculty. A renowned classical singer with an international operatic career, she specializes in roles from Mozart and Puccini, as well as early 20th-century French melody. Her research explores innovations in operatic performance and the integration of technology in stage arts. She holds a First Prize from the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec and has performed on stages worldwide, including the Nancy and Lorraine Opera, Opéra de Montréal, and Salle Alfred-Cortot in Paris.
- Education: Conservatoire de Musique de Québec (First Prize, unanimous Jury).
Her research focuses on Arts de la scène, innovations technologiques et clowns pour le renouvellement de l'opéra (2024-2026, funded by SSHRC) and Chanter un opéra en langue québécoise (2022-2024, SSHRC Exploration Grant). She has received prestigious awards, including the Diana Soviero Prize and Raoul Jobin Prize, and has been a member of the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal.
Teaching includes masterclasses in vocal artistry (MIN-6852, MIN-7854) for the Master in Music and PhD programs. She also teaches at Cégep Marie-Victorin and guest lectures at the Camp Musical des Laurentides.
Her career spans over 20 years with major opera companies, including the Opéra de Québec, Vancouver Opera, and international tours. Notable performances include Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 in 2008 and roles in La Traviata, Carmen, and La Voix Humaine.
