Denys Bouliane is Associate Professor of Composition at McGill University. His research explores contemporary orchestral and operatic forms, described as 'music of magic realism'. Works are performed globally at venues including ISCM festivals and Wien Modern.
Current projects include the operatic cycle Gamache, the Saga of the Anticostians. He previously directed the McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble and co-founded Montréal/Nouvelles Musiques festival.
