Monika Woloszyn is a University Professor at University of Savoie Mont Blanc, assigned to Polytech Annecy Chambéry engineering school. She directs the Solar Academy University Research School and leads the Master's program in Solar Energy: Engineering and Management while co-coordinating the BASE scientific theme at LOCIE research laboratory.
Her research specializes in building physics with focus on hygro-thermal phenomena, coupled heat/mass transfer in porous materials, and solar energy integration. She develops computational models validated through experimental work on building envelopes and low-carbon materials to advance sustainable construction practices and energy performance metrics.
As Editor of Building and Environment journal and editorial board member for Journal of Building Physics, she shapes scholarly discourse in the field. Her leadership extends to USMB Academic Council governance and CAC-R research commission presidency, driving institutional research strategy while maintaining active roles in IBPSA and Building Physics scientific networks.
She directs LOCIE's BASE theme which investigates advanced building systems through interdisciplinary collaboration, emphasizing practical applications of building physics research for solar-integrated architecture and energy-efficient construction. Her work bridges theoretical modeling with experimental validation to address real-world sustainability challenges in the built environment.
