Monica Wagner is a Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School and serves as Adjunct Faculty. She earned her law degree from Columbia Law School in 1981 and clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg during Ginsburg's tenure as a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judge.
Her professional background includes environmental and employment discrimination litigation at Terris & Sunderland in Washington, D.C., where she became a partner in 1988, and general practice in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. She has held prominent roles in the New York Attorney General’s Office, including Assistant Solicitor General (2007–2011) and Deputy Chief of the Environmental Protection Bureau (2011–present).
