Dr. Monica Ratoi is a Lecturer in Lubrication Science at the University of Southampton, with over 30 years of research experience across Imperial College London, the University of Oxford, and her current institution. Her work focuses on tribology, nanotechnology, and lubrication engineering, including organic friction modifiers, self-assembly layers, and hydrogen technology applications. She collaborates with institutions like Japan's International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research and Kyushu University's Hydrogenius Centre. Funded by EPSRC UK, STLE, and industry partners such as ENEOS and ExxonMobil, her research has garnered international accolades.
Research interests include nanotoxicology, lubricant nanoadditives, and polymer composite lubrication. She serves as an expert advisor on nanotechnology safety and evaluates risk frameworks. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges academic and industrial sectors, with ongoing projects in sustainable energy and advanced materials.
