Monica Molteni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cultures and Civilizations at the University of Verona, specializing in Art History and Restoration. She holds a dual role as Vice-Director of the LANIAC non-invasive analysis laboratory and contributes to teaching modules on art techniques, museology, and conservation. Her research focuses on the history of restoration practices, artistic techniques from the 19th–20th centuries, and the application of diagnostic methods to cultural heritage. Key projects include the FRESCO initiative on detached frescoes and the Rubens svelato study on Mantua's Gonzaga altarpiece.
Academically, she coordinates courses in Cultural Heritage programs, including History of Art Techniques, Museology, and Modern Art Conservation. Her administrative roles include membership in the Faculty Board of the PhD in Archaeology, Art History, and History, and leadership in departmental committees for research and laboratories.
Her work bridges historical analysis with modern conservation science, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches to study restoration archives (e.g., Ottemi Della Rotta) and technical art history through projects like Unfinished Pisanello. She actively participates in international research networks and publishes on topics ranging from Tintoretto's spatial装饰 to 19th-century Veronese painting practices.
