Monica Martinussen

Monica Martinussen is a Professor and Head of Department at the Regional Knowledge Center for Children and Youth (RKBU North) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Her research focuses on preventive mental health interventions for children and adolescents, aviation psychology, and psychometric methodologies. She holds adjunct professorships at the Norwegian Defence University College, where she teaches quantitative methods and leadership in military contexts. Her work includes developing school-based bullying interventions, evaluating mental health service quality, and conducting meta-analyses in psychological research.

Dr. Martinussen has led national committees including the Djupedal Committee on school bullying prevention (NOU 2015:2) and served on the National Committee for Research Misconduct Investigation. She has received the EAAP Award for Outstanding Achievement in Aviation Psychology (2018). As editor-in-chief of Psyktestbarn.no and editorial board member of journals like Journal of Aviation Psychology, she emphasizes evidence-based practice.

Her research spans child mental health services evaluation, pilot selection criteria, and workplace well-being in healthcare. Recent studies focus on digital interventions for cyberbullying prevention and sibling support programs in primary schools. She actively supervises PhD/Master’s students in test psychology, meta-analysis techniques, and aviation human factors.
