Monica Green

Dr. Monica Green is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Education, Arts and Community, Federation University Australia, specializing in place/community-based sustainability education and outdoor pedagogies. Her work focuses on curriculum frameworks for sustainability, university-school partnerships, and regional community development.

• Chair of UN’s Regional Centre of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (RCE Gippsland)
• Part of the Homeward Bound Women in Leadership (STEMM) program (2021-2023)

Her research examines place-based education in primary settings, utilizing school grounds, gardens, and wetlands to enhance sustainability knowledge. She has supervised numerous studies on teacher education and community engagement, including works by Prins, Caldow, and Wiggins.
