Dr. Cheryl Glowrey is a Lecturer and Campus Coordinator for Joint Degrees (Secondary Education) in the School of Education at Federation University's Gippsland Campus (Room 2S-211). With qualifications including a PhD from Monash University (2013), Master of Education from Deakin University (2000), Master of Letters from University of New England (1995), Graduate Diploma in Education from Canberra University (1978), and Bachelor of Arts from Australian National University (1977), she brings extensive experience from her background as a secondary school teacher and principal in rural Gippsland.
Her research focuses on:
- Rural education systems and student aspirations
- Curriculum development for secondary education
- Regional and environmental history of Gippsland
- Indigenous history and community partnerships
- Teacher education and evidence-based pedagogy
Her publications demonstrate interdisciplinary work bridging education and history, with recent trends examining rural community regeneration through curriculum design, environmental history of settlement patterns, and transformative educational partnerships with Indigenous communities.
