Monica Ferraris

Monica Ferraris is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) of Politecnico di Torino and a member of the interdepartmental center J-TECH@POLITO. She leads advanced research in materials science, focusing on antimicrobial coatings, ceramic composites, and joining technologies for extreme applications.

• Research Areas: Antimicrobial/virucidal coatings, Ceramic matrix composites, Glass materials, Solid waste recycling, and Sputtering techniques.
• Labs: GLANCE research group, Thermal Analysis Lab 3, Biomaterials Lab, Composites Lab, Nuclear Materials Lab, and Sputtering Lab.

Her work spans biomedical coatings, energy systems, and aerospace materials. She has secured numerous EU and national grants, including projects like MAGIC and NEXTOWER. Recent publications highlight innovations in nuclear applications and waste valorization.
