Monica Calabritto

Monica Calabritto is a Professor of Italian and Comparative Literature at Hunter College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), serving as Chair of the Romance Languages Department at Hunter College. Her research focuses on Early Modern culture, with expertise in History of Medicine, Early Modern Body studies, Classics, Criminal Justice History, and Emblem studies. She has authored and edited books such as Murder and Madness on Trial (2023) and co-edited Emblems of Death in the Early Modern Period (2014).
