Monica Calabritto is a Professor of Italian and Comparative Literature at Hunter College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), and Chairperson of Hunter College’s Department of Romance Languages. Her research bridges early modern literature, medical humanities, legal history, and gender studies, with a focus on the interplay between madness, violence, and legal frameworks in Renaissance Italy and Europe.
