Mona Motakef

Prof. Dr. Mona Motakef is a Professor of Sociology of Gender Relations at the Department of Social Sciences, TU Dortmund University. Her research explores how gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation intersect with social policy, labor, and family dynamics through an interpretative paradigm. She leads the doctoral program 'New Challenges in Aging Societies' and serves as first spokesperson for the Women's and Gender Studies section of the German Sociological Association (DGS), while also holding editorial roles at journals like Feministische Studien. Her work emphasizes precarious life arrangements, inequality, and recognition within diverse families.
