Mona Bahout is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rennes 1. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from University Paris-XI (1991), followed by postdoctoral research at the Institute for Nuclear Studies, Saclay (1991-1992). She earned her Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in Physical Chemistry and General Chemistry from the University of Rennes 1 in 1999. Her research focuses on the structural and chemical properties of perovskite oxides and layered transition metal sulfides, particularly their application in solid-oxide fuel cells (SOFC) as mixed ionic electronic conductors (MIEC). She has extensive experience with neutron diffraction techniques, including developing experimental protocols for in situ studies under high-temperature gas flows at ILL/Grenoble.
Teaching responsibilities include thermochemistry and chemical kinetics at the undergraduate level (L3) and leading the Chemistry Laboratory component of the Erasmus Mundus European Master in Materials Science (MaMaSELF), totaling 45 teaching hours annually. Collaborations include work with Professors Peter Battle (Oxford University) and Colin Greaves (Birmingham University) on magnetic materials and conductors.
