Molly Lynch

Molly Lynch is a Lecturer in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Johns Hopkins University, an MA in English from the University of Toronto, and a BA in English from Concordia University, Montreal. Her specialties include Creative Writing, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Academic Writing.

Her research and creative work explore themes of environmental collapse, motherhood, and societal transformation. Her debut novel, The Forbidden Territory of a Terrifying Woman, published in 2023, examines ecological and social crises through the disappearance of mothers worldwide, blending feminist critique with speculative fiction. The novel has garnered praise from publications like Vanity Fair and authors such as Alice McDermott and Claudia Dey.

Lynch teaches courses such as Creative Writing and Advanced Fiction Writing at U-M. Her office is located in 3258 Angell Hall, and she is affiliated with LSA’s English department.
