Molly Candon is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, with dual appointments in the Department of Psychiatry (Perelman School of Medicine) and the Department of Health Care Management (The Wharton School). She directs the Associate Fellows Program at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and co-directs the Evaluation Center, focusing on data-driven suicide prevention and opioid use disorder treatments.

Her research examines how insurance design and reimbursement policies affect access to chronic pain management and behavioral health care. Key projects include economic analyses of acupuncture coverage, Medicaid policies, and concierge medicine's impact on costs and equity.
Recent publications span Medicaid policy, opioid use disorder, acupuncture access, and healthcare workforce dynamics. She has received a K award from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health to study cost-sharing for acupuncture.
At Wharton, she teaches courses in healthcare economics and behavioral health management, emphasizing demand-supply models, managed care, and value-based care reforms. Her work bridges academic research with policy engagement, including testimony to Philadelphia City Council on mental health initiatives.
