Jalpa A. Doshi

Jalpa A. Doshi, PhD, is the Leon Hess Professor of Internal Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine and Director of Value-based Insurance Design Initiatives at CHIBE. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and Director of the Economic Evaluations Unit at the Center for Evidence-Based Practice at Penn.

Her research focuses on improving pharmaceutical access and utilization in healthcare systems to balance costs and health outcomes. Key areas include prescription benefit design, reimbursement policies, suboptimal medication use in chronic diseases, and the clinical and economic impact of behavioral economics interventions. She works with administrative claims, electronic medical records, surveys, registries, and clinical trial data, particularly in vulnerable populations such as the elderly, disabled, chronically ill, and low-income patients.
