David Grande is a Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Health Care Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He serves as Director of Policy at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and Co-Director of the National Clinician Scholars Program. His research bridges health policy and digital health ethics.

Recent publications emphasize health policy and digital health, with a strong focus on substance use disorder access and telehealth implementation. His work often examines how health data privacy and policy design impact patient outcomes.
Awarded the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholar, Grande's research has informed Medicaid policy development in Pennsylvania and national discussions on health equity and digital ethics.
As a practicing internist at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Grande combines clinical experience with policy work. He recently joined the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services as Special Advisor for Medicaid Innovation while maintaining his academic appointment.
He collaborates with the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and leads initiatives through the National Clinician Scholars Program, focusing on health services research and policy translation.
